Service Information
The Florence Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit legal service organization providing free legal services to men, women, and unaccompanied children in immigration custody in Arizona. Although the government assists indigent criminal defendants and civil litigants through public defenders and legal aid attorneys, it does not provide attorneys for people in immigration removal proceedings.
The mission of the Florence Project is to provide free legal and social services to detained adults and unaccompanied children facing immigration removal proceedings in Arizona.
The Florence Project provides legal services on site at the detention facilities, not from our office or over the phone or e-mail. Our clients are detained individuals and our resources are channeled to assist these individuals in detention by working with them directly. The number of inquiries received by our office far exceeds the capacity we have to respond. While we will make every effort to respond to your inquiry, we cannot answer general immigration questions, provide referrals, or give you legal advice
Mission Statement: The Florence Project provides and coordinates free legal services and related social services to indigent men, women, and unaccompanied children detained in Arizona for immigration removal proceedings. The Project strives to ensure that detained individuals have access to counsel, understand their rights under immigration law, and are treated fairly and humanely by our judicial system.
