Service Information

Rappahannock Legal Services is a non-profit corporation that provides free, high-quality, civil legal assistance to low income individuals and families. The vast majority of RLS' cases are either family (primarily custody, support and domestic violence), consumer finance, income maintenance/health, or housing. We handle civil legal matters only. We do not handle any criminal cases. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept everyone who applies for our services. Our program only serves low-income clients. Applicants must meet our income requirements and asset eligibility. Income is based on household income and can be affected by medical expenses, work expenses, and other factors.

Serving Westmoreland, Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster, Essex, King and Queen, and King William Counties.

Mission Statement: We champion fairness by advocating for those with the least access to the civil justice system.
